Each of us has always wanted something related to his favorite movie, character from games or books.Many people collect figurines, collector’s editions of games or books in a very refined setting.I am one of those people and I have always wanted to have something that the hero of my favorite movie and the entire John Wick comic book series had in mind.
In this case, I was guided by reason and I could invest a similar car but I do not have a garage and it would be a pity to park such a car next to the block 😂. And I combined the pleasant with the useful, namely, for a long time I was looking for a worthy replacement for my well-worn pistol, which was the Colt 1911, and Baba Yaga appeared on the horizon.Yes, my choice fell on one of the pistols used by the main character, John, and my choice was a replica R601 JW3 TTI COMBAT MASTER.
The replica was made under license companies Taran Tactical in cooperation Jag Precision. So we have all the markings of the firearms manufacturer on the slide, but also on the magazine that is attached to the set.We have an individual serial number engraved on the skeleton of the pistol.
In terms of markings, you can say that it is rich for me, it is a plus and it is such a nice flavor on every replica in my case. They are made well in a cool color. They haven’t clashed yet, hold on very well, although the gun is in constant use.The black coating is also very good, so far no scratches are visible, the only three places where the coating has rubbed off are :
- Rear sights
- Element at the shell ejector
- On magwell
Another nice addition is polymer pistol grip with stippling – ensuring a sure and solid grip of the pistol in all weather conditions and better control of the gun while shooting.
Enlarged funnel for the magwell – significantly speeds up the change of the magazine.
It is also worth adding that from the external parts we also have:
- Double-sided thumb safety – allows you to block the slide without changing the grip of the weapon.
- A fiber optic front sight and an adjustable rear sight – facilitate the harmonization of instruments and accelerate accurate firing in unfavorable conditions.
- Integral mounting rail – for mounting additional accessories, such as a tactical flashlight.
Sights in the form of a non-adjustable fiber optic front sight and an adjustable up / down rear sight are sufficient for both CQB games and dynamic shooting.I’m just waiting for the appearance of the plate under the RMR.I think with RMR on the slide will look even more epic than it is now. It’s also nice if there are slide adapted for RMR.
From the outside, we have already discussed the construction of the replica, so you have to get on with the inner part.
When it comes to the internal parts, in my opinion it is not a revelation.As for this price shelf it is ok, but I admit that it could be better when it comes to, for example, the hop up rubber in my case, in its middle you could see a delamination like it is in the case of the used part for this was immediately replaced with a new one.The hop up chamber is assembled correctly and there is nothing to complain about here, the barrel is standard with a diameter of 6.03 lengths 110millimeters finished with a correctly made lace.
I’m using 0.25 grams in my current setup The accurate range of the shot is about 35-40 meters for me, that’s definitely enough so far, especially since I use it the most during CQB games.
In my opinion, the return spring was too soft, it was replaced with a slightly longer and harder spring 122.8mm which in my opinion improved the blow back and what is important to me, its speed slightly increased.The winding element and the spacer itself can be used correctly, but soon the entire barrel and chamber assembly will be replaced with a tuning kit from Maple Lead, thanks to which I will get a little more range and more precise pressure regulation.The gas cylinder is standard and complies with the imposed dimensions of the Tokyo Marui standard as well as other internal parts. I wasn’t sure about its durability when using capsule magazines co2 for this, at the moment, has been replaced with a blue cylinder adapted to a stronger gas, at the moment I am testing this solution and we will see what the results will be.
The outer barrel has standard clearances and is correctly made.It does not have a thread on which the compensator could be mounted, in my opinion it is a good move.
The most important element of each GBB pistol is the magazine, without it we will not fire the replica. In the case of this piece, we get a really specific magazine with corrected ones in the set valves of quite considerable weight.The magazine itself holds 28 BBs and in my case at a positive temperature of around +20 degrees, when fully filled with WE gas, you can fire two magazines without losing power, we’ll see as this amount continues, it is known that there will be less gas when firing rapidly, but this is understandable.
In my opinion, there is nothing to complain about the magazines, of course it is worth buying three more because the BBs run out very quickly.
Below we can see how much each part of the gun weighs.
Finally, it is appropriate to present the pros and cons of this structure.So let’s start with the pluses:
- Full Metal construction – slide with cutouts to reduce weight
- Reinforced skeleton of the gun
- Realistic blowback system
- Double-row magazine – a larger magazine for 28 BBs with a base which facilitates easy replacement of the magazine.
- Enlarged magazine release – for releasing the magazine without changing the grip
- Double-sided thumb safety – allows you to block the slide without changing your grip
- Enlarged funnel for the magwell – significantly speeds up the change of the magazine
- Polymer pistol grip with stippling – ensuring a sure and solid grip of the pistol in all weather conditions and better control while shooting.
- Integral mounting rail – for mounting additional accessories, such as a tactical flashlight,
- Laser-engraved individual serial number.
- New-generation sealed magazine valves – the magazine loading comfort has significantly improved, reduces the use of gas and ensures tightness and smooth operation of the entire replica.
- Affordable price and compliance with the Tokyo Marui standard, which is a good sign for further tuning or replacement of parts
Construction disadvantages:
- Hop up rubber of unknown quality.
- Gas cylinder not looking reinforced
- No external tuning parts such as RMR board.
For the price of over PLN 400, we get a correctly made replica with some flaws, but also in my opinion with a lot of advantages.Is it worth buying? In my opinion, especially because it is a replica of the TTI pistol used by John Wick 😂.
